Carve a Cheap Spa Day Out of Pumpkin

Add antioxidants, vitamins and enzymes to pumpkin facial ready to applyyour skin with pumpkin. So before you spend a fortune at the spa, pick a pumpkin from your garden or use your jack-o’-lantern’s guts. Rejuvenate your skin with pumpkin.

Vitamins A and C from the pumpkin softens skin and reduces signs of aging. The natural fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) exfoliate and hydrate the skin, as well as speed up cell production. 

Try a facial mask
 Recipe

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbs. honey

  1. Dice up some pumpkin in a bowl.
  2. Add other ingredients and smash it until paste-like.
  3. Smooth mask onto clean, damp skin with your fingertips (avoid eye area).
  4. Relax 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Rinse well with warm water.
  6. Pat dry.
Enjoy a good scrub
 Recipe
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin
  • 2 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs. ground coffee
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
  1. Combine pumpkin, sugar, coffee and ginger in bowl. 
  2. Mash ingredients together with wooden spoon until well mixed.
  3. Use your fingertips to gently massage the pumpkin scrub into wet skin. 
  4. Begin with your face, then move down to your neck and chest. Try small, circular motions to massage scrub for one to two minutes. 
  5. Rinse well with lukewarm water. 
  6. Pat dry.
